You’ve Been Asking…

I’ve been asked a couple times if I’m still booking portrait sessions and weddings. Let me go ahead and answer that for anyone else who might be wondering—-YES!!! 🙂 I’m never going to stop photographing, if I can help it, but I totally get why it may be in question. A LOT of life’s been happening, and I haven’t been as present on social media, my blog, or active with other business projects as I was nine months ago. I’m still here and eager though! 🙂

This has been a season of learning to give grace—grace with myself, grace in my business, and grace with others. It’s not been easy, but I’m so thankful for the opportunity to grow.

Beckett’s newbornhood was not our favorite season. I struggled with some tough postpartum depression and anxiety. Then, we felt God calling us to sell our dream home and for Jimmy to leave his job for another. We moved when Beckett was six months old (not highly recommended by us!). Once we felt semi-settled and relaxed in our new home, we got a call that my dad had a second severe ischemic stroke!!! It’s been just over a month since that call, and I still feel like my world is upside down. I don’t pity myself, but share these things as an update for those who follow my business and personal journey and why I’ve been a little MIA.

The truth though, is that working my business is a form of self-care for me. It’s easy for me and others to see my business as “optional” considering that I’m already full-time at-home mommy and work part-time at the NICU. But, serving others through photography helps ME heal in a creative, healthy way. Lord knows I need His kind of healing right now. So…with lots of grace…I’m making a more focused effort to make my business priority amongst the chaos, because I’m important too.

So, let’s have fun together capturing some of your special moments! You can contact me here. 🙂
