Why We Chose Legoland Hotel

Let me start by saying, as a mom, I’m always on the lookout for places where my kiddo will have a blast and where I can catch my breath every once in a while. If you’re like me and love finding alternatives to the more expensive Disney resort stays, Legoland Hotel Florida is a perfect match.

We were planning a trip to Central Florida to visit family and decided to switch things up by staying at Legoland Hotel. Our son, Beckett, has been super into Legos lately, and what better way to fuel his creativity than a hotel entirely themed around them? Plus, it’s right next to Legoland Florida Resort and just a short drive from Walt Disney World, giving us the flexibility to enjoy both if we wanted!

Location, Location, Location

Let’s talk about how perfectly located Legoland Hotel is! Nestled right in Winter Haven, it’s literally steps away from the entrance of Legoland Florida Theme Park and Legoland Water Park. You can even see the park from your hotel room! It’s also just a quick car ride to Peppa Pig Theme Park, which is right next to Legoland. While we didn’t visit this time, it’s an amazing option if you have younger kids who adore Peppa and the gang.

And if you’re feeling adventurous, Disney World is just an hour’s drive away. You get the best of both worlds—enjoy the relaxing, playful atmosphere at Legoland while still having the option for some Disney magic.

Kid-Centric Rooms & Themed Suites

We stayed in the Adventure Room, and let me tell you, Beckett’s eyes lit up the moment we walked in. Each room is intricately themed, and there are different options like Pirate, Kingdom, and Lego Friends rooms, depending on what your little one loves. The Adventure Room had cool Egyptian explorer vibe, with a separate kids’ area that included bunk beds, a trundle bed, and its own TV (which felt like such a treat for Beckett!).

Every day, we got a new Lego kit in our room. Beckett couldn’t wait to start building the moment we got back each afternoon. It was such a thoughtful touch, and it made each day feel like a new adventure. Plus, there’s an in-room treasure hunt where kids can solve clues to unlock a treasure chest—it’s a fantastic way to keep them entertained while you unpack or unwind.

Non-Stop Entertainment & Amenities for Kids

One thing that truly sets Legoland Hotel apart is that it’s built for kids. From the moment you step into the lobby, huge Lego creations are everywhere. We spent so much time just admiring the massive builds that were scattered throughout the hotel.

And then there’s the elevator. You’ll be treated to a disco dance party every time you ride! Yep, you heard that right. Every time you step into the elevator, the lights dim, and the music turns up. It’s the perfect opportunity for some impromptu dancing on your way to the pool or dinner. Beckett thought it was the coolest thing ever, and honestly, I did too!

He couldn’t stay still long enough for a picture, because he was so excited to explore the room! 🙂

Outdoor Fun & Pool Area
The outdoor area is another major highlight. There’s a large fire pit where you can make s’mores in the evening, a fun little mini golf course to practice your putting skills, and even a boardwalk along the lake that offers stunning sunset views. We loved strolling along the boardwalk in the evenings—it was so peaceful after a busy day at the park.

The pool area is also a hit! They have floating Lego bricks that kids can build with while swimming, and there’s a smaller splash area for the little ones. The bars are conveniently located right next to the play areas, so parents can sit back with a drink while keeping an eye on their kids—genius, right?

Nightly Entertainment & Characters
In the evenings, the fun doesn’t stop. There’s nightly entertainment like dance parties, pajama parades, and Lego-building competitions. There are also workshops you can sign up for! And throughout the day, Lego minifigures make surprise appearances to say hello to the kids. Beckett loved seeing the characters wandering around—it’s such a cool way to keep the magic going outside of the theme park.

Dining at Legoland Hotel

Let’s talk food! One thing I always worry about on vacation is finding good food that the whole family can enjoy, but Legoland Hotel has several options that make mealtime a breeze.

Bricks Family Restaurant is the main dining area where you’ll find a buffet full of kid-friendly options like pizza, chicken tenders, and mac and cheese. But don’t worry, there are plenty of choices for adults too! From salads to roasted veggies and grilled meats, the variety is surprisingly wide. Plus, breakfast is included with your stay—so you can fill up before heading into the parks! While we were there the staff was delivering our food from the buffet to our table. Not sure why, but it worked just fine!

If you’re looking for something a bit more sit down, the Skyline Lounge is a great spot. It offers a variety of drinks (both kid-friendly and adult beverages) and small plates. The best part? It’s located right next to the kids’ play area, so you can enjoy your drink while your kids burn off some energy.

There’s also the Sandy’s Castle Restaurant inside the nearby Pirate Island Hotel, which features pirate-themed décor and hearty meals perfect for fueling up before a day of adventure.

More Hotel Options: Pirate & Beach Resort

While we stayed at Legoland Hotel, there are a couple of other options if you’re looking for something different. There’s the Legoland Pirate Island Hotel, which is just as themed and kid-centric as the main hotel, and the Legoland Beach Retreat, which offers cozy, colorful bungalows. Though I can’t speak to their experiences firsthand, both seem like fantastic choices if you’re looking to switch up your stay.

Tips for Your Stay

  • Book early: The themed rooms are super popular, so I recommend booking in advance to snag the one your kids will love most.
  • Pack swimsuits: The pool is a huge hit with kids, and you don’t want to miss out on the Lego-themed water fun.
  • Use that breakfast buffet: It’s included with your stay, and it’s a great way to fuel up before heading into the park.
  • Plan for extra time in the hotel: There’s so much to do between the play areas, boardwalk, and nightly entertainment. You don’t need to rush off to the parks every day!
