Wow! I’ve never been to England, but I feel like I’ve stepped into the most peaceful, quintessentially English garden and countryside grounds when I visit McCoy Farm and Garden. This 38-acre property is steeped in history which you can feel at every turn of the walking trail that surrounds the property. A wedding here would be every bride and photographer’s dream! Just look at Emily & Ben’s in this video and try not to swoon!!!
Rich Romantic History
The romantic atmosphere is in every detail of McCoy Farm & Garden. The original historic home, McCoy Homeplace, is a beautiful stone home dating back to the 1800s! The inside features dark woods and fireplaces that add to the wooded and green ambiance permeating from the outdoors. The historic manor is one of the indoor ceremony site options brides can choose from when marrying here! I absolutely love the pavilion location for a ceremony as it is surrounded by windows and brings in so much natural light! Given my light and airy style, I completely love the opportunity for portraits here!
Endless Photo Opportunities
There are even more spots for photos throughout the 38 acres that sit on top of Signal Mountain. McCoy Farm & Garden strives to restore, enhance, and preserve the lands that initially were occupied by the McCoy family. The mission and the land feel peaceful and poetic. It makes complete sense given historic poet Emma Bell Miles was the original occupier of this land. As I said, so much history!
This lovely community arboretum space is for public and private use and the natural and historical elements from this old family land are seen on every corner. The pollinator garden and an apple orchard are two of my absolute favorite places! When I’m not playing photographer, and I’m off-duty with my husband (and second shooter!) and sweet son, the children’s sensory garden is incredible too. The McCoy Farm and Garden are more than just a wedding and celebration venue, it is truly a destination. Guests of all ages will love exploring and hiking the trails when they come for your big day!
Farm & Garden Amenities
As a couple, you can choose wedding celebrations and utilize the space for up to 15 hours! And that still doesn’t seem like enough time to enjoy all McCoy Farm & Garden offers! Including on-site restrooms, bridal dressing rooms, and a fire pit (perfect for those late summers and fall weddings!); the farm offers so much to couples! You can also opt for your rehearsal dinner here! (Did you know I often join couples for the full weekend and photograph their rehearsal dinner too?)
Often maintained by the community and volunteers, the lands are always ready and prepared for your event (even if that’s an elopement – a popular choice at McCoy Farm and Garden)! If you’re curious about the natural landscape and history, visit the farm and take a stroll on the walking trails! You’ll immediately see why I love it so much and you will be transported to a quiet, peaceful paradise!
