Part of my love for being a wedding photographer is 100% because of the venues I get to discover. The Kincaid House in the greater Knoxville, Tennessee area has to be one of the best ones I’ve come across. It’s almost too beautiful to put words to, but I’ll find them because I have to tell you about this venue!
RECEPTION DREAMS
Imagine the sweetest dinner party with friends. The Kincaid House is the ultimate wedding reception setting. It’s intimate, quaint, and like having dinner in the most serene backyard with your closest friends and family. It is a sanctuary.
The house itself is a 1930’s Dutch Colonial and it is beautiful. It’s romance, elegance, and history wrapped up into one. If you desire an intimate wedding gathering, this is your venue! The garden is lush with crepe myrtle and English boxwood among other plants. It is so picturesque and the photo opportunities are endless.
The garden can even be used for your reception if you opt to be away from the house. The Kincaid House has multiple ways to bring your wedding reception dreams to life!
ENGLISH-INSPIRED GROUNDS
Pavers and woven paths make the grounds a true English garden. And the thoughtfully curated and maintained grounds are full of history! The stone wall was built from extracted stones from the nearby Norris Dam Project. You would have never guessed it but I love that they’ve repurposed such stunning stones.
The gazebo on site is also constructed from the same stones and it is a wonderful gazebo! Having such a beauty as the backdrop for your ceremony makes for some serious heart-eye emoji photos! The gazebo doesn’t have to just be used for ceremony photos either. There’s a great staircase that is a favorite spot for bridal or groom portraits or even just married photos! (Though the bridal portraits with long trains draping down the stairs – I can’t get enough!) I especially love getting to feature the bride and groom at the top of the gazebo with the wedding party celebrating below. The gazebo is so lovely for group shots!
Inside the home itself, a traditional curved staircase and a beautiful fireplace provide more opportunities for photos! And where there’s a staircase, I’m usually there with my camera ready to capture a shot!
