So, one of my favorite questions to ask my couples is…”where’s the honeymoon?!” I have to admit, I’m always a bit jealous when they tell me! And those couples that have jetted off to Italy…I can’t! Fortunately, The Woodlands at Five Gables gives me all the Tuscan vibes and plops me right into a warm Italian Villa right here in Tennessee.
AESTHETIC
Like I said, an old world Italian villa. Tuscan, cozy, and just a stunning and timeless building. The aesthetics create a special backdrop for epic wedding portraits.
The Woodlands describes their fireside room, which is perfect for indoor ceremonies as “enchanting” and it really is. The ceiling height goes on for days with a stunning mantle mirror that reflects the gorgeous natural light coming in from floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as a double barrel chandelier. The mantle is perfect for dreamy floral designs. It’s also a great space for cocktail hour or a dance floor if you’d rather host your ceremony outside!
And if outdoor ceremonies are more your thing, you’ll still feel like you are in the Italian countryside. Decorated with stucco pillars and arches, towering windows, surrounded by a walk-through garden, you are completely transported as you walk down the aisle.
Sunset portraits or a patio illuminated by bistro lights is also one of my favorite places to sneak in some final images of your incredible wedding day!
MAIN HALL
The arched doors leading into the venue itself are decorated in wrought iron scrolls and build on the romantic feeling. The doors lead you into the main hall and the ambience of the Woodlands interior for your reception just can’t be beat. The elegance oozes from the flowy white ceiling fabric that is tucked between wooden beams. Chandeliers line the ceiling and give off a warm glow. The lights even highlight the spiral staircase which is one of my favorite touches. The spiral stairs leading up to a beautiful balcony beneath a stunning arched ceiling is an incredible place for bridal and ‘just married’ portraits.
GETTING READY
While portraits and more formal shots are a must-have on your wedding day schedule, so are the fun, laid-back ones. The Woodlands offers great getting suites for both brides and grooms. They’re perfect for the pajamas photos or the toast before the ceremony. The bridal suite looks out onto the walk-through garden and brings in so much natural light. Photos in this room are gorgeous! The men aren’t forgotten and to keep them occupied ahead of the ceremony, they have access to a putting green! I’ve never seen that at a venue until the Woodlands but it is brilliant!
